10 Ways To Control Stress At Home
68Stressed?
I am no expert by any means, but upon seeing this request, I started thinking about how combat stress. Ideas starting poppin in my head, so I thought "what the heck . . . I will give it a shot".
So, here they are . .
1. Turn off your computer. Your shoulders, back and eyes will thank you.
2. Get organized and have a routine. Check out flylady.net for tips. I find that a lot of my stress comes from not knowing where things are. Reduce clutter and put things where they go.
3. Clean up. A clean house makes me feel at ease. I think the ONLY way to accomplish this is to clean as you go. If we put everything away when we were done with it, cleaning would be sooooooo much more simple. This also goes for yourself too. Take a shower, get dressed - makes a world of difference in your mood.
4. Get to bed on time. This is of course easier said than done. But it helps "just do it." Turn off the TV, get in bed and off the couch.
5. Eat before you are starving. It helps to have good, nutritious food available. I find that making a weekly shopping list and planning ahead is the only way.
6. Check off your to-do list. I feel a HUGE relief with each check mark. If there is something that has been there forever, just do it now.
7. Excersize. Even if its just 15 - 20 mintues at home. It's amazing how something so simple is so hard for us to do, but its also amazing how great you feel.
8. Breathe. Take a second to take deep, relaxing breaths. Roll your head around too, why not.
9. Take a break. It helps me to do something I need to do, and then treat myself to a little break - whether it be reading an internet story or watching a show. Just be sure you are able to flip the switch back into work mode.
10. Cry if you have to. If i am really, really stressed, sometimes it helps to just let it out.
